(Canadian rower shows his Olympic spirit)
We spent the first day at our venue (Thursday) getting our laptops set up and checking out the shooting positions and pool positions. Our team consists of editor Bertrand Combaldieu, of Paris, Kirsty Wigglesworth, of London, Greg Bull, of Mexico City, Kevork Djansezian, of Los Angeles, and myself. Several teams practiced today and we made a bunch of photos between getting everything settled for the long haul. I made a photo of a Canadian rower with the Olympic rings cut into his hair. It wasn't too hot but it was humid...and HAZY. The vests we're required to wear make it even hotter.

After practice, we met two of the media workers from the venue and went to...a Chinese restaurant for dinner (imagine that!). I was told the name of the place was "Taste of Heaven" and it was very good. Kevork ordered everything for us, including Peking duck. The food was good and we had one of the four people waiting on us take a team photo. Then, we shot a photo with him.

Also spotted an interesting sign on the walk back to the hotel. I think it says it all. Time to make great photos!

OK..how long do you think it will take to convert that group to Southern? Good Luck to you all and have a great Olympics!
