Shopping...and Rain

A couple of us ventured out to the local "malls" in Shunyi. The malls are large buildings, 4-5 stories high with many shops. One is higher priced than the other but neither is like a "flea market". While wandering around, we came across a woman dressed in traditional clothing. We also bought a few Olympics items.

The forecast today was for rain and thunderstorms and by lunchtime the sky had turned dark and stormy. By the time we got to the venue, the rain had started and there was wind and lightning.

We made a few weather photos and waited out things until they finally canceled the rowing races. I went over the the slalom course to help Kirsty but they ended up canceling that as well. Everyone got pretty wet before it was all over.

The bad news is since Friday was the only day with no racing on the schedule, it looks like we will not get a day off until the end.
